Mining Techniques to Avoid
We mine our semi precious gemstones from placier deposits on our land. Bancroft Ontario
area is known for it's gemstones mined from roadcuts. When visiting please take care when
gathering gemstones from area road cuts!
We feel there is a right and wrong way to harvest gemstones from placier deposits. The
method above is not eco friendly!!We care
about the environment and hand dig a small area on our land and then fill in the soil, add a little
compost and lime and we replace the area with a nice garden, grass or wildlife food plot.
