Smokey Quartz (also called Cairngorm) is the gemstone of Scotland.
In the first 'root' charka, the Muladhara, smokey quartz is said to subdue
survival instinct, security, and grounding.
In some traditions it is said to bring calm and patience as problems work themselves
out naturally. It also helps to clear negative energy, and help to create security in the self
It is said to be an excellent mood elevator and bring grounding and centering.
In other traditions it is said to protect against bad luck and helps to increase
tolerance of stress, and to cope more easily with hard times. Said to be a stone
that promotes group enhancement is imparts unifying energy.
It is also said to be associated with the astrological signs of Capricorn & Sagittarius. As such
it attunes energies for spiritual development and acts as a protective energy barrier around
the user. Also said to encourage astuteness in business and purchasing.
